Cat's eye

Posted by Mark Dalpe (Ottawa, Canada) on 21 April 2008 in Animal & Insect.

Here is my cat's eye. The reproduction ratio was 1:1. I used my R1C1 flash kit (only one flash, as you can see by the specular highlight in the pupil).
I recently got rid of my 200mm macro lens, I miss it but I never used it enough to justify keeping it. I'm hoping that since Nikon has now updated all their other macro lenses (105mm, 60mm, 85mm PC-E soon) that this fall or next spring they'll announce a Nikkor 200mm f/4 G AF-S VR. How I'll afford it with all the gear i've bought this year I have no idea.
Nikon D200, Nikkor AF 200mm f/4 D Micro.
